Tripplehorn Goes “Grey”

Jeanne Tripplehorn (”Big Love”, “Basic Instinct”) has been cast as Jackie Kennedy Onassis in Drew Barrymore and HBO’s “Grey Gardens” project.

Barrymore and Jessica Lange star as “Little Edie” and “Big Edie,” the respective aunt and cousin of Onassis, who made headlines when the health department threatened to raid their flea and raccoon-infested estate in East Hampton, N.Y.

Tripplehorn will be joining Daniel Baldwin, who plays Julius Krug, the former secretary of the interior and secret true love of Little Edie; Ken Howard (”Cane”) as Big Edie’s husband; Malcolm Gets (”Caroline in the City”) as Big Edie’s accompanist; and Arye Gross (”The Practice”) as documentary filmmaker Albert Maysles.

Kidman Wants Roberts To Join Her In “Monte Carlo”

Nicole Kidman has signed on to star and produce the romantic comedy “Monte Carlo.”

Based on Jules Bass’ novel “Headhunters,” the story follows three humdrum teachers who pose as wealthy women holidaying in the glitzy Monaco resort.

Director Tom Bezucha (”The Family Stone”) is helming the project and Kidman is apparently approaching Julia Roberts to join her on the feature. A third A-list talent is expected to play the remaining teacher. Source: Empire Online

Anna Faris Gets Into Deep Throat

Actress Anna Faris (”Scary Movie”, “Lost In Translation”) confirms that she’s set to play Linda Susan Boreman, better known by her porn stage name Linda Lovelace, in the upcoming feature “Inferno.”

Faris and first-time director Matthew Wilder are currently putting together the project which she describes as a “really deep, dark drama.”

Lovelace became a household name after the 1972 X-rated porn film “Deep Throat” became a pop-culture phenomenon which has to date grossed more than $600 million worldwide.

In the years that followed, Lovelace reinvented herself as an anti-porn crusader and insisted she had a gun held to her head off-camera during the entire shoot of the porn classic and blamed the experience largely on her manager/husband Chuck Traynor. Lovelace died in 2002 following a car accident and several weeks on life support.

“This would be incredibly intense,” says Faris. “It would be the most difficult thing I’ve done, and I’m really nervous…It’s a pretty tragic story. It’s going to be a challenge, definitely.” Faris also said other actors have yet to be cast - “We’ve yet to find Linda’s husband. That’s sort of our hang-up right now; we’re trying to get that.” Source: MTV News
