According to Page Six, a source claims 21-year-old “Transformers” star Shia LaBeouf was at Beatrice Inn on West 12th street one night recently “desperately seeking a lady . . . but none of the hipster hotties were standing for it.” The source goes on to say that Shia “finally turned to one woman and whined a line that will send any guy home solo: ‘How do I get a girl to go home with me?’”

Richard Quest, 46, an openly-gay reporter and business travel specialist for CNN, was arrested at 3:40 a.m. Friday morning after a cop spotted him and another man inside the park near 64th Street.
A source says Quest was initially busted for loitering, but as he was being escorted out of the park, he told the arresting officer “I have meth in my pocket.” And he wonders why he works for CNN and not the CIA.
Upon further inspection, law-enforcement sources found a small bag of methamphetamine in his left jacket pocket, a rope around his neck that was tied to his genitals, and a sex toy in his boot. The criminal complaint against Quest said the park was closed at the time - something Quest should have known because of all the signs saying “Park Closed 1 a.m. to 6 a.m.”

(Above) Lauren Bacall as a young model on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar
The Hollywood icon (and New York City native) was leaving a supermarket on 81st Street on the Upper West Side (fast becoming one of my favorite areas).

What do The Pope and Marilyn Monroe have in common? Sex, scandal, expensive tastes in gowns and they’re both the topic of today’s Gotham Report. Read on…
Lock up your Prada and call off the gay wedding, the Pope is in town! Pope Benedict XVI arrived in Washington D.C. today on his first papal visit to the U.S. He was greeted off the plane by Satan and his clan: President Bush, first lady Laura Bush and their daughter, Jenna.
On the flight to the United States from Rome, his royal Popeness addressed the issue of clergy sex abuse in the Roman Catholic Church.
“It is a great suffering for the Church in the United States and for the church in general and for me personally that this could happen,” Benedict said. “I am deeply ashamed and we will do what is possible so this cannot happen again in the future.” Ah hum…
Benedict pledged that pedophiles would not be tolerated in the Catholic Church. “We will absolutely exclude pedophiles from the sacred ministry,” he said. “It is more important to have good priests than many priests.”
Since 1950, the U.S. church has paid out over $2 billion in abuse costs, most of that in just the last six years.

Radar reports that gimmicky clothing line Heatherette, may or may not have gone out of business.
“The demise of Heatherette has been months in the making. The label actually canceled their fashion week show in February, though founder Traver Rains claimed at the time that he and partner Richie Rich were simply reorganizing the company and would be back in time for next fashion week. The reorganization was supposed to involve finding a new financial backer after Rich and Rains burned through the $6 million given to them by the Weisfeld Group, owner of urban streetwear outfit FUBU; a source tells Radar that the duo’s efforts were unsuccessful, and that Rains and Travers have now amicably parted ways.”
