Chasing Anna

Movie & TV News @ IMDb.com - WENN

Fawcett Begs Smith To Love Her Again

Actress Farrah Fawcett is eager to get on Anna Nicole Smith’s good side again, after a brief war of words. Fawcett labeled Smith’s self-titled reality show a “train wreck” in the first episode of her new unscripted series Chasing Farrah. And the former Charlie’s Angels star’s comments proved to be highly offensive to busty heiress Smith, who recently stated in her weekly column for US tabloid the National Enquirer, “Train wreck? Have you seen a mirror lately? Looks like your train wreck came 15 years ago. What did you do anyway, hit your nose on the train? Because it sure needs to be straightened out. It’s a shame you had to talk about me because I really loved you.”

But Fawcett is keen to squash the battle, explaining, “This is so sad. When they were pitching the show to me I said the shows that I did not want to do. I wouldn’t even be capable of doing one like Anna Nicole. I mean, I think she’s very brave, very gutsy. I’m not Anna Nicole, I couldn’t do that. She got mad and wrote something very bad and then at the end she said, ‘It’s too bad because I really loved you.’ So I feel badly. It wasn’t directed at her

The Ups & Downs Of “Brokeback Mountain”

Author: Garth Franklin

Ang Lee’s upcoming film “Brokeback Mountain” about two young cowboys (Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal) who tumble into love while herding sheep through the Wyoming mountain range during the early ’60s, was excluded from the Cannes screening schedule altogether reports After Elton.

Given Ang Lee’s track history, the elimination from the running at Cannes is of note, especially since the contenders this year are helmed by indie cinema darlings like Lars Von Trier, David Cronenberg, Wim Wenders, Jim Jarmusch, and Gus Van Sant (who was originally slotted to direct Brokeback). However, Cannes has also never accepted a film of Lee’s for competition, and reportedly don’t particularly like him. So the film’s rejection from the lineup may have nothing to do with the movie itself, rather with who’s directing it.

Why the project didn’t measure up at Cannes remains unknown, though the trades reported two weeks earlier that “Brokeback Mountain” was “looking wobbly for Competition,” and confided that the film reportedly “underwhelmed the selection committee.”

This comes at odds with other recent reports that many studio executives were “moved to tears” at a recent screening of it. “It’s a great American love story,” says a source to the paper who confirmed it is unabashed about the gay relationship that is central to the film and there are sex scenes. Whether the famous Heath Ledger skinny dipping photos that surfaced last year were part of the film is unsure though they won’t be in the movie’s final edit.

One of my most reliable sources who also happens to be one of Dark Horizons’ greatest supporters (and a really good friend) also confirmed that people were crying and loving the film at a recent US screening. In fact the move to December 9th seems primarily for Oscar chances and that both “Brokeback” and Cameron Crowe’s “Elizabethtown” are looking likely to be big contenders for awards next year.

Ex-English footballer Stan Collymore has landed a role in “Basic Instinct 2: Risk Addiction” according to British tabloid The Sun. A film insider told the paper “Collymore won the part after impressing producers last week.”

He will be filmed pleasuring Sharon Stone’s ice pick-wielding femme fatale character Catherine Tremell as they race through London in a $180,000 Spyker C8 Laviolette sports car.

However, he will be killed off in the first 30 seconds. Sharon crashes the car through a barrier and it careers into the Thames. Collymore’s character Kevin Franks - drowns. Now that’s a way to go.

Collymore gained notoriety over the years, including last year whee admitted to practicing the increasingly popular act of ‘dogging’ - voyeuristic sex with strangers in parked cars.

Filming on the BI sequel starts on Monday at Pinewood Studios and on location in London.

Charlotte Rampling (”Swimming Pool”, “Spy Game”) and David Thewlis (”Harry Potter & The Prisoner of Azkaban”, “Kingdom of Heaven”) have joined the cast of “Basic Instinct 2: Risk Addiction” for Intermedia Films and C2 Pictures says Reuters.

They join Sharon Stone and David Morrissey in the sequel that starts shooting this week at London’s Pinewood Studios and on location in the U.K. Written by Leora Barish and Henry Bean, the London-set sequel finds Catherine Tramell (Stone) on the wrong side of the law. She meets a man who might finally be her match: The criminal psychologist (Morrissey) assigned to evaluate her by Scotland Yard.

Rampling plays a psychiatrist friend of Morrissey’s character, with Thewlis playing a police officer. This announcement comes on top of yesterdays news of football player Stan Collymore joining the cast in a small but memorable role at the film’s start.

Fleiss Attacks Prison-Bound Ex Sizemor

From IMDB.com: Movie & TV News @ IMDb.com - WENN

Actor Tom Sizemore’s bitter ex Heidi Fleiss has accused the Black Hawk Down star of being a closet homosexual. The former Hollywood Madam won a legal battle with the actor after accusing him of beating her. and now she’s kicking him while he’s down. Sizemore was handed a 17-month prison sentence last month for violating parole conditions arranged after his court battle with Fleiss on Thursday and will serve his time behind bars once his current appeal on another abuse charge is heard. But Fleiss isn’t happy that her ex is heading for jail - she’s still on the attack. The former hooker tells America’s Globe tabloid that Sizemore’s abusive nature towards women comes from his sexual confusion. She says, “Because he’s lousy in bed and very homophobic, I have to wonder if he’s not struggling with his sexuality. If that’s so, he’s really going to hate jail.” Fleiss, 39, also tells the tabloid that she was only in love with the actor for two weeks before she realized he was “dangerous” and “a pathetic loser”.

Grace In Your Face

From IMDB.com: Grace Jones Denies Train Attack

Actress Grace Jones has denied attacking a train manager during a row over ticket fares on a trip from Paris to London.

The 56-year-old was reportedly thrown off the Eurostar service shortly before it arrived in the British capital on Tuesday after she was discovered in a premium carriage with a first class ticket. A Eurostar spokesperson alleges she became abusive and grabbed the female manager after she was asked to pay to upgrade her ticket.

But Jones insists there was “definitely no physical confrontation” and asked to be let off the train - claiming she was issued with an incomplete ticket without a price on it.
